תוכנית תקווה במנהיגות פוליטית

ללמוד מנהיגות ומחשבה פוליטית מטובי המרצים בארץ ובעולם. להיפגש עם מעצבי דעת הקהל ומקבלי ההחלטות המשפיעים ביותר בישראל. לקחת חלק בתוכנית קיץ אקדמית יוקרתית, בת חמישה שבועות, הכוללת מלגת לימודים מלאה ומלגת מחייה נדיבה. תוכנית תקווה במנהיגות פוליטית תיערך בקיץ 2010, במרכז הבינתחומי הרצליה.

התוכנית שואפת להעצים את דור העתיד של מנהיגי ישראל בתחומי המחשבה והמנהיגות הפוליטית, לקבץ יחדיו את המבריקים והמצטיינים שבסטודנטים, אלו הפעילים חברתית וציבורית, ולהעניק להם חוויה אקדמית-ייחודית שטרם זכו לה.
התוכנית תקנה לסטודנטים את ההזדמנות לגבש תפיסת עולם לקראת דרכם הציבורית העתידית. התוכנית תפגיש בין תיאוריה ופרקטיקה, תעסוק באידיאות ותיאוריות המבוססות על טקסטים מכוננים בתחומי המחשבה המדינית ותציע למשתתפים חשיפה למיטב המומחים בתחומי המדיניות, הכלכלה, החברה והמשפט.
בנוסף, התוכנית תעסוק בנושאים בוערים בתחומי מדיניות הפנים והחוץ של ישראל מנקודת מבטם של מקבלי ההחלטות וכן, בנושאים הנוגעים לאופייה ושסעיה של החברה הישראלית.
התוכנית מנוהלת במשותף על-ידי פיטר ברקוביץ', עמית בכיר ע”ש טד ודיאן טאוב במכון הובר באוניברסיטת סטנפורד, ואליסה רובין פלד, מרצה בכירה בבית הספר ע"ש לאודר לממשל במרכז הבינתחומי והמנהלת האקדמית של תוכנית עמיתי ארגוב במנהיגות ודיפלומטיה.

The Tikvah Program in Political Leadership

The Tikvah Program in Political Leadership aims to educate the future leaders of Israel in the realms of political thought and political leadership. The four-week, bilingual (English and Hebrew) curriculum has three main parts. First, students will study with master teachers seminal texts of political and social thought, including the foundations of liberal democracy and Jewish political thought. Participants will also analyze two pressing policy questions (one foreign, one domestic), guided by leading Israeli and international decision makers and experts. Finally, a series of events and conversations– from discussions with leading experts on current issues in Israeli politics and society to guided study tours throughout Israel–will expose students to fundamental moral and political ideas and the many dimensions of Israeli society and culture. The faculty and speakers will come from a variety of domains and represent a diversity of viewpoints. Students should expect to study, think and debate about politics and public policy with uncommon rigor and breadth.
The program is co-directed by Dr. Peter Berkowitz and Dr. Alisa Rubin Peled. Dr. Berkowitz is the Tad and Dianne Taube Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, where he chairs the task force on national security and law and co-chairs the task force on the virtues of a free society. Dr. Rubin Peled is a senior lecturer at IDC’s Lauder School of Government, where she also serves as the Academic Director of the Argov Fellows Program in Leadership and Diplomacy.
